The Story of Blobs

I have been creating ceramics for most of my life. I made my first Blobs in High School, played with them in College and then shelved them for almost 20 years.

The Process

All Blobs are hand built, fired, and glazed by me, the Blob Mama. I love the tactile experience of bringing life to these creatures by molding each one, hollowing them out, giving them arms and faces.

Once firings are complete, I add hand made mixed media miniatures. I hand weave baskets, sew quilts, construct tools, and create whatever other details I want to bring more life to the Blobs.

The Details

In the 20 years that I was not building Blobs, I was a mixed media artist. It was when I decided to join the two styles that I knew I was onto something and the Struggle Blobs were born.
